Our Story

A passion for winemaking

Passion for the land, tastes and smells of Etna, with deep respect for tradition.

Our farm's vineyard extends on the southeastern slope of Etna, about 600 m above the sea level.

Right at the foot of Mount Gorna, a small and ancient volcanic cone belonging partly to the municipality of Trecastagni and partly to that of Viagrande (Catania).

In fact, indigenous Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio vines are grown here, arranged in both espalier and bush-trained systems.

Thanks to the composition of the soils, characterized by volcanic sands, this area gives birth to Etna Rosso DOC.

A particularly fine wine that retains all the richness of the land which it comes from.

The story of

Etna Rosso DOC “NeroeNero” is made from 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Cappuccio, native vines of Mount Etna. The vineyard is located in Contrada Monte Gorna, along the southeastern slope of Etna, at 600 meters above the sea level, on land with wide and panoramic terraces. These ancient indigenous vines are grown on the slopes of Monte Gorna, originated – according to Diodorus Siculus, historian of Agira in 59 B.C. – during the eruption of 396 B.C., and since then the slopes and even the interior of the extinct volcano have always been cultivated with vines. These grapes express all the fragrance and flavors of the volcanic earth, with unique aromatic characteristics, representing a pleasant encounter between tradition and modernity. The wine has a ruby red color, possesses a good tannic content and an alcohol content of about 13%, characteristics that make “NeroeNero” a wine easy to fall in love with.
